Any pizza is a good pizza, regardless of the size. However, when it comes to holding the title for the world's largest pizza, size definitely matters. Who owns the world record for the largest pizza? Well, that all depends on how you slice it. According to Guinness World Records, the overall record for the world’s largest circular pizza was set at the Norwood Hypermarket in South Africa back in 1990. The enormous pizza pie measured a whopping 122 feet 8 inches across and weighed a sizable 26,883 pounds. It contained 9,920 pounds of flour, 3,968 pounds of cheese, and 1,984 pounds of sauce.

In terms of rectangular pizza, the record for the world’s largest rectangular pizza was initially set in Iowa Falls, Iowa. Pizza shop owner Bill Bahr put together a team of 200 helpers to craft an enormous 129 x 98.6-foot pizza with 4,000 pounds of cheese, 700 pounds of tomato sauce, and 9.500 diverse sections of crust. The giant pie was able to feed the towns 5, 200 residents a generous ten slices of pizza each.

Whether it is a record-breaking pie or a regular old pizza, there is no doubt that this food has won the hearts of billions.
